What is Reiki?

In the traditional Usui Reiki method, Reiki is understood as the combination of two Japanese concepts:

Rei — universal, spiritual wisdom

Ki — life force energy

Together, Reiki represents spiritually guided life force energy — a natural healing modality that works on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.

What a Session Is Like?

You'll lie on a padded table — shoes off, blanket if you want one — or sit in a chair if lying flat isn't comfortable. We'll talk for a few minutes first, then you rest while I work, hands resting lightly on you or hovering just above. Depending on the day, I may bring in essential oils, sound techniques, or a short guided meditation.

Most people feel warmth; some notice tingling or a sense of dropping into meditation; others feel little during the session and more afterward — sleeping through the night, or the next day landing differently. Falling asleep on the table is common and doesn't mean you missed it.

At the end, I'll share what came through and any observations. I don't interpret these for you. I tell you what I noticed, and you take what's useful.

You don't have to believe in any of it. Reiki asks nothing but a willingness to lie still for a while.

What is Distance Reiki?

Reiki doesn't require me to be in the room. If that sounds implausible, you're in reasonable company — it's the part most people need a minute with.

Here's what it looks like in practice. We agree on a time. At that time, we start with an introductory call, and afterwards you settle somewhere you won't be interrupted — your own bed, a couch, a chair by a window. No candles or particular setup required, though most people find it easier with their phone face down and the door shut.

I work from my studio for the full session length, exactly as I would if you were on the table in front of me. Afterwards, we will have a call to close out the session.

You don't have to do anything. You don't have to concentrate, or stay awake, or believe it will work. Afterward I'll share what came through.

For anyone traveling, homebound, short on time, or simply not up to leaving the house, distance sessions are often the easier way in.
